From recycled bricks to AI-powered irrigation, three Egyptian startups secure financial and technical support.
Tatweer Misr has crowned the winners of the seventh edition of its Innovation Competition, awardingfinancial and technical support to three startups tackling sustainability, construction and agricultural technology.
Held at the Citadel in Cairo, Egypt under the theme ‘7 Virtues of Innovation’, the pitch night and Awards Ceremony brought together entrepreneurs, investors, academic and industry leaders, marking the final stage of the competition’s latest cycle. Organised in partnership with the Egypt’s Entrepreneurship Awards, the event forms part of Tatweer Misr’s broader strategy to place innovation at the center of its long-term business model and urban development vision.

“Innovation is not a slogan or a trend, it is a mindset that challenges convention and creates opportunities,” said Ahmed Shalaby, co-founder, president & CEO of Tatweer Misr. “The winners of this year’s competition represent a new generation of innovators whose ideas have the potential to redefine the future of real estate and urban living.”
This year’s winners were selected across two tracks. In the Ideation Track, Nubrik took home EGP 400,000 for its sustainable construction model, which transforms construction and demolition waste into eco-friendly building materials. Its flagship product, interlock brick pavers for roads and sidewalks, offers a more durable and cost-effective alternative to traditional paving while supporting circular economy practices.

In the Startup/MVP category, two startups were awarded EGP 600,000 each. ProTile was recognised for its solution tackling waste in the marble and granite industry by converting solid stone waste into lightweight exterior cladding. The product is designed to be 60%-70% lighter than traditional stone, quicker to install, and up to 30% cheaper, while reducing building energy consumption by as much as 40%.
The other Startup/MVP winner, Solar Sector, offers a digital platform helping smallholder farmers transition to solar-powered irrigation systems. Its AI-powered assistant, Ra’, guides users in local dialect, assesses farm requirements through uploaded data or photos, and connects farmers directly with certified suppliers while enabling remote diagnostics and maintenance.
As the seventh edition closes with three startups now positioned to scale, the ceremony further underlined Tatweer Misr’s growing role in backing early-stage innovation tackling real infrastructure and sustainability challenges in Egypt.
