Bahrain-Born Edtech Unipal Secures Pre-Series A for MENA Expansion
The Bahrain-headquartered edtech’s funds will help expand its student discount platform across the MENA region.
Unipal, a Bahrain-born edtech startup, has raised a Pre-Series A investment round with backing from Falak Angels Syndicate members. The platform has already attracted 60,000 users and over 350 brand partners in Bahrain.
In eight months, Unipal has also made significant strides in Riyadh, growing its user base to 160,000 and securing 250 brand partnerships.
Previously, in July 2023, Unipal raised a $500,000 follow-on investment from Tenmou and Flat6labs, with additional support from angel investors. The latest Pre-Series A round will help Unipal continue to innovate and expand its reach across the Middle East and North Africa.
Founded in 2020 by Ali Alalawi and Ali Al Shaer, Unipal provides an online platform offering exclusive discounts and special offers to university students on a variety of products, including dining, electronics and sports.
