Palestinian & Diaspora Angel Investors Launch 'Peleset Angels' Network
Peleset Angels is an early-stage angel investor network dedicated to supporting Palestinian startups.
In Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, the startup ecosystem has consistently been on the rise. While these three destinations have each received hundreds of millions of dollars in funding in 2022, entrepreneurs in Palestine face drastic challenges. Fragmented markets, regulatory difficulties and limited access to opportunities have left Palestinian startups underfunded, having received only $9.5 million in 2022, according to Startup Genome.
Looking to directly address these limitations, a network of angel investors in Palestine and amongst the Palestinian diaspora has come together to form Peleset Angels, an early-stage angel investor network dedicated to supporting Palestinian startups. By providing pre-seed funding for these startups, Peleset Angels aims to help them validate their concepts, develop Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), and explore external markets.
Amongst Peleset Angels’ key objectives is its commitment to empowering female founders and promoting diversity in the tech industry. By providing funding opportunities to underrepresented voices, the network seeks to foster a more inclusive startup environment. The network's active engagement with early-stage startups, guiding them in their journey, sets the foundation for future investment opportunities and ensures the sustainability of both startups and investors.
Peleset Angels also offers a unique dual approach, allowing both for-profit and nonprofit pathways for supporters to contribute. Through these avenues, investors can fund startups while individuals and organizations can make charitable donations.
