Developments Underway to Create New Care Systems for Egypt's Homeless

The Ministry of Social Solidarity has taken action to develop its systems of social care to better assist Egypt’s population of homeless people.
In order to more easily facilitate the moving of vulnerable people from the streets to state facilities, roaming vehicles will be introduced onto the country’s streets so that these individuals may be more effectively assisted. This effort hopes to lessen the Ministry’s reliance on hotline calls informing them of the locations of those in need of social care.
Additionally, to address the lack of trained medical staff at state facilities, the Ministry of Social Solidarity is working in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Population to share resources, and provide adequate medical treatment at social care homes.
