134 Endangered Animals Released Into NEOM Nature Reserve
This initiative is part of ongoing programs to breed and rewild native species in their natural habitats.
The National Center for Wildlife (NCW), in collaboration with NEOM, released 134 endangered animals into the NEOM Nature Reserve. This initiative is part of ongoing programs to breed and rewild native species in their natural habitats.
The species released include 100 Arabian oryxes, 20 Arabian gazelles, eight Nubian ibexes and six Idmi gazelles. This effort not only builds on previous releases but also aims to restore ecological systems within the Kingdom’s natural environments.
The NEOM Nature Reserve release is part of a larger effort by the NCW to protect ecosystems, enhance biodiversity and promote environmental balance. The organisation operates advanced facilities that rank among the world’s leading centers for breeding and reintroducing endangered species.
This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s national objectives to safeguard endangered species and their natural habitats. Beyond ecological benefits, it enhances the appeal of the Kingdom’s nature reserves and national parks, contributing to the growth of eco-tourism while laying the groundwork for a sustainable future.
