150 New Esports Centres are Being Built Across Saudi Arabia
UAE-based esports network True Gamers will open its first Saudi gaming lounge in Jeddah in the first half of 2024.
It’s time to flex those fingers and work on those headshots. Gamers across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are about to get a bunch of new homes with the establishment of 150 esports centres by 2030, courtesy of UAE-based esports network True Gamers. The high-tech clubs will offer a wide range of amenities including car simulators, PlayStation lounges and VIP capsules, along with a library of more than 120 titles including popular games like Fortnite and Valorant.
The first True Gamers lounge in Saudi Arabia will open in Jeddah during the first half of 2024, with plans to establish ten in total by the end of the year. The company will also launch a series of local and international esports tournaments in the Kingdom, modelled after their events in Dubai, which have attracted more than 1,500 participants.True Gamer plans to further establish nine more gaming clubs in the UAE, with talks underway for similar projects in Egypt, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait.
With an estimated 21 million active gamers, making up 58% of the population in Saudi Arabia, True Gamers' lounges is part of the Kingdom's USD 45 million investment into its esports infrastructure. The Kingdom's gaming industry is projected to reach USD 2.8 billion by 2026.
