20 Egyptian Universities Ranked Amongst Top 2,000 in the World
The 2024 edition of the Center for World University Rankings has ranked 20 Egyptian institutions amongst the top 2,000 globally.
The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) has ranked 20 Egyptian universities amongst the top 2,000 in the world, with Cairo University recognised as the top Egyptian institution, placing it among the top 513 universities globally out of 20,000 evaluated. Ain Shams University follows, ranked within the top 769, while Mansoura University and Alexandria University secure positions within the top 873 and 914, respectively.
Other notable Egyptian universities on the list include Assiut, Zagazig, Tanta, Al-Azhar, and several others, highlighting the country's strong presence in higher education.
The CWUR ranking methodology is based on seven indicators across four key areas: education (25%), employability (25%), faculty (10%), and research (40%). Research indicators encompass output, high-quality publications, influence, and citations, each contributing 10% to the overall score.
Established in 2012, CWUR provides strategic insights and consulting to enhance educational and research outcomes globally.
