The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque recorded 500,000 Umrah pilgrims in a single day.
The authority announced the deployment of advanced sensor-based readers at the main entrances of the Grand Mosque to monitor pilgrim numbers and improve crowd management. Smart cameras have also been installed to track entry movements and identify congestion points in real time.
The system aims to enhance crowd distribution, particularly in the circumambulation and Sa'i areas, ensuring smoother movement. The technology is currently in use at main entrances, with plans for gradual expansion to improve monitoring and management within the mosque.
