65,000 Books From Abu Dhabi Book Fair Donated to 220 Emirati Schools
The books were published from 77 participating publishing houses with a grant from President Sheikh Mohamed.
65,000 books purchased from 77 publishing houses participating in the33rd Abu Dhabi International Book Fair have been distributed to 220 schools across the UAE, facilitated by a financial grant from President Sheikh Mohamed aiming to expand schools’ educational resources.
The President stressed the importance of Arabic language resources, not only as a means of communication but also as a tool for cultural preservation and critical thinking.
Originally known as the Islamic Book Fair, the event has been running since 1981, and this year featured a special display from Cairo’s Soor El Azbakeya Book Market, which has been selling second-hand and vintage books in Downtown Cairo since 1907.
