ADREA Hosts Weekly Performance Tracing Journey of the Arabian Horse
The live show explores the Arabian horse’s journey – from its origins in the Arabian desert to its rise as one of the most coveted and celebrated breeds in Europe.
The Abu Dhabi Royal Equestrian Arts (ADREA), a new cultural institution on Jubail Island and the first school for classical horsemanship outside Europe, is staging a weekly performance that examines the history of the Arabian horse. Titled ‘Furusiyya: Return to Origin,’ the show traces the horse’s journey across regions and time periods. The narrative follows the breed from its early presence in the Arabian desert to its prominence in European courts, where it became valued for its endurance and refinement, before its return to the Arabian Peninsula, where the lineage began. Alongside the performance, visitors can explore The Furusiyya Gallery, which displays manuscripts and artefacts documenting centuries of equestrian tradition. The gallery also houses a library of more than fourteen thousand volumes, described as one of the world’s largest equestrian-focused collections. Guests can spend time in spaces such as Ethr at the Library, or visit Knead Bakery, which opens on Saturdays for the weekly event. Tickets are available through ADREA’s official website and social media channels.
