AI Curriculum to Be Introduced in Secondary Schools in Egypt
AI coursework will meet Japanese certification standards following new Egypt-Japan education partnership.

Egypt’s Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly confirmed that artificial intelligence will be introduced to the secondary school curriculum starting in 2026.
During a cabinet meeting, Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif presented a plan for integrating AI into high school education.
Abdel Latif stated that an agreement has been reached with Japan’s largest educational platform in the field of artificial intelligence. As part of this partnership, AI will be included as a subject for students starting from the first year of secondary school. The subject, however, will not be included in students’ final grade calculations.
The coursework will follow standards outlined by the Japanese institution, preparing students to acquire employable skills in AI through a qualifying certificate.
Madbouly described the integration of AI studies as aligned with the Egyptian state’s direction to remain updated on technological developments.
