Abu Dhabi Ranked as World’s Safest City

The 2024 Global Liveability Index from the Economist Intelligence Unit has ranked Abu Dhabi as the safest city in the world and as the most liveable city in the MENA.

Abu Dhabi scored 11.8 points in the Crime Index, indicating an almost non-existent crime presence. The city’s healthcare and education services have further solidified its position for liveability, with the city hosting 3,323 healthcare facilities and 459 schools.

Other Gulf cities - including Ajman, Dubai, Doha, Muscat and Ras al-Khaimah - also ranked amongst the top ten safest cities in the world.
