Air Taxi Service Could Take to the Skies of Ras Al Khaimah by 2027
This is part of a broader plan in the Emirate to reduce carbon emissions as well as further its sustainable tourism program.
Ras Al Khaimah will introduce air taxi services by 2027 through a collaboration with Skyports, a developer of vertiport infrastructure. The agreement signed between Skyport and the Ras Al Khaimah government aims to connect key tourist attractions in the Emirate through the air taxis, including Al Marjan island, Al Hamra and Jebel Jais.
The air taxi service is a part of a broader program to further sustainable transportation and tourism in the Emirate as well as reduce travel time between popular destinations. The usual 70 minute car ride from Al Marjan island to Jebel Jais will be reduced to a less than 20 minute journey through the air taxi service.
Ras Al Khaimah aims to increase the number of tourists to 3.5 million visitors annually by 2030.
