Al Futtaim Electric Mobility Launches New BYD Electric Cars in UAE
The Chinese manufacturer is bringing three new models to the Emirates, boasting super long ranges and modern tech.
The UAE’s Al Futtaim Electric Mobility Company has announced the introduction of three new models of electric and hybrid cars in the Emirati market. In partnership with BYD, a world-leading electric car manufacturer based in China, three of their latest models will soon be hitting the streets of Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the rest of the Emirates, aiding the speedy adoption of low and zero-emission vehicles in the country, and aligning with the national ambition of net-zero emissions by 2050.
The three new BYD models will cater to different customers, from luxury, sporty all-electric vehicles to plug-in hybrids with impressive range capabilities. The BYD Seal boasts an impressive array of luxury features including Nappa leather interiors and reclining, ventilated rear seats, whilst also catapulting its passengers from 0-100 kph in just 3.8 seconds, should the situation demand it.
The mid-level offering, a plug-in hybrid SUV called the Song Plus, also has a full suite of modern conveniences, like a 360° camera for parking and a huge panoramic sunroof. And with a combined hybrid range of over 1,000 kilometres, you can enjoy the view through that roof for a good while before fueling up or charging.
The third offering, the Qin Plus, also has a 1000 kilometre range, and with a price tag of AED 91,000, this plug-in hybrid sedan provides an ideal balance of comfort and climate-friendliness for any would-be customer.
The introduction of these three new models is a significant step in democratising the electric vehicle landscape in the UAE, where other options were previously unattainable to many.
