Alserkal Art Week Returns to Dubai with Global Line-Up This April

Alserkal Art Week is set to return to Dubai from April 13th to the 20th, bringing with it a dynamic line-up of exhibitions, installations, and talks at Alserkal Avenue in Al Quoz. This year’s edition, themed ‘A Wild Stitch’, delves into identity, resilience, and displacement, offering a platform for artists from the Middle East, South Asia, Africa, and Latin America to engage with these themes through contemporary art.

The biannual event, which has become a key fixture in Dubai’s cultural calendar since its launch in 2015, is free to attend and open to the public. Over the past few editions, Alserkal Art Week has steadily grown in both scale and international recognition, with previous highlights including large-scale commissions, gallery openings, and panel discussions drawing artists, curators, and collectors from around the world.

This spring, the week will feature ‘Vanishing Points’ by Pakistani artist Imran Qureshi, curated by Nada Raza, alongside major public installations by Emirati poet and artist Nujoom Alghanem and Indian visual artist Shilpa Gupta. In addition to visual arts, the programme includes film screenings, workshops, and Majlis talks—intimate forums that offer insight into regional and global artistic practices.

The event will span several contemporary galleries and project spaces within Alserkal Avenue, as well as outdoor spaces across the creative district. Visitors can expect a mix of new exhibitions, curated experiences, and cross-disciplinary collaborations aimed at fostering dialogue between artists and audiences.
