An Addiction Centre for People With Disabilities Will Open in Egypt
This will be one of the first addiction centres for people with disabilities to open its doors in the MENA region.
The Ministry of Social Solidarity has announced that it will open a new addiction treatment centre soon; the centre is amongst the first in the MENA region to serve people with disabilities who suffer from addiction.
The centre will offer a variety of services to its patients, including rehabilitation, sports and arts activities, support groups for the recovering patients and their families, and vocational training workshops to help integrate them back into society and the workforce.
There are currently 28 addictions treatment centres in Egypt spread across 17 governorates. These centres have been serving around 160,000 patients overall.
