An Amphibious Bus Will Drive on the Roads & the Nile By End of 2025
The River Transport Authority announced a tourism-only pilot that will link roads and the Nile in Cairo, Luxor and Aswan.

An amphibious bus that travels on the Nile and on roads will start operating in Egypt by the end of the year, in a first for the country. The unit, contracted as part of the Ministry of Transport’s plan to expand river transport, will be piloted for tourism use only before any wider deployment. The River Transport Authority is working with a private company and the Ministry of Tourism to operate the amphibious bus. Initial operations are planned in Cairo, Luxor and Aswan to link sightseeing routes with Nile trips and reduce transfers between road and river segments.
