Assiut Is Getting Road Projects Worth EGP 179 Millions

Road projects valued at EGP 179 million have been implemented across Assiut Governorate, covering new routes and the resurfacing of main roads and internal streets in several centres and neighbourhoods, according to Governor Hisham Abu El Nasr.

One of the key projects is the Deir Al Qusair road east of the Nile, which links the Dayrut axis to Al Qusair village over a length of five kilometres with an average width of eight metres. T

he project, which cost EGP 30 million, involved cutting through mountainous rock formations to connect remote areas in Al Qusiya and Dayrut. In Assiut Centre, resurfacing works were carried out on the Moosha–Reifa road, extending 8.5 kilometres with a width of 15 metres, alongside the Qarqaras branch connecting to the Assiut–Sohag agricultural road, which spans 2.5 kilometres with a width of six metres. The combined cost of these projects reached EGP 38 million.

In Abnoub, works included resurfacing Al Gomhoureya Street from the police station junction to the survey zone over 2.5 kilometres, as well as Al Aqqoula Street over 1.85 kilometres, with total funding of EGP 28 million.

In West Assiut district, upgrades covered 26 July Street, the Grand Mosque area, Zein El Din El Sharif Street, and Teraa Abdallah Street in the Moalemeen area, at a cost exceeding EGP 28 million.

Additional resurfacing works were carried out in Sadfa, including Tarat Al Duwair and Al Gomhoureya Street, at a cost of EGP 12 million. In Al Badari, projects covered the road from Kom Al Ahmar Bridge to Sheikh Ahmed, alongside internal streets and interlock-paved alleys, with funding exceeding EGP 37 million.
