China’s Henan Zhongfu to Build USD 2 Billion Aluminium Hub in Egypt
The project in East Port Said targets automotive and electronics supply chains.
Henan Zhongfu, a Chinese aluminium manufacturer, is set to build a USD 2 billion industrial hub within the Suez Canal Economic Zone, with the facility located in East Port Said.
The project will focus on higher-value aluminium processing rather than raw smelting, targeting supply chains in the automotive and electronics industries.
According to details outlined by the Egyptian Cabinet, the complex will span more than one million square metres and is expected to generate around 3,000 direct jobs.
Hiring is set to prioritise workers from Sinai and cities along the Suez Canal corridor, aligning with broader efforts to support local employment in industrial zones.
The development forms part of ongoing plans to expand heavy industry within the Suez Canal Economic Zone, which has been positioned as a hub for large-scale manufacturing and export-oriented production.
