55 Arabian Oryx & Gazelle Births Recorded in Saudi Royal Reserves

A total of 55 wildlife births have been recorded across the Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammad Royal Reserve and the King Khalid Royal Reserve by mid-second quarter of 2026.

The figures include nine Arabian oryx and 46 sand gazelles, with 40 births documented in Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammad Royal Reserve and 15 in King Khalid Royal Reserve.

According to the Imam Abdulaziz bin Mohammad Royal Reserve Development Authority, the results reflect the effectiveness of field programmes aimed at enhancing ecological balance and supporting biodiversity sustainability.

The authority noted that the outcomes are linked to ongoing cooperation with the National Center for Wildlife, particularly through release and reintroduction initiatives designed to restore species populations.

These programmes have contributed to increased natural reproduction rates and improved habitat stability within the reserves.

Officials said the births mark progress in efforts to support species that have declined due to environmental pressures such as overhunting and desertification.
