As of now, COVID-19 vaccinations are mandatory for anyone over 18 years old in Egypt. The decision is part of a new set of regulations made in response to the proliferation of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 virus.
These regulations include accelerating the vaccination process for a wider population of people in Egypt, facilitating vaccine registration procedures at train and metro stations, and allowing minors aged 12 to 18 better access to the vaccine.
