COVID-19 Vaccine Mandatory for Workers in Public Institutions
Although a timeline has not been specified, this new requirement is scheduled to be implemented very soon.
As Egypt steps up its COVID-19 inoculation campaign, vaccination will be made mandatory for all workers in a public sector institution.
The announcement came from Presidential Advisor for Health, Dr. Awad Tag El-Din, who did not lay out a specific timeline in which the new measures will be implemented, but said they will come into effect soon.
He also stated that even some private institutions “won’t deal with someone who is not vaccinated.”
Earlier, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced that university students and staff - as well as school teachers - will be prioritised as vaccine recipients ahead of the new academic year.
