Cairo Opera House Hosts Forum Exhibiting Works of Farouk Ibrahim
Detailing photographs from the 6th of October Victory, the forum will feature Ibrahim’s work, narrated by his son Karim Farouk.
On October 3rd, Cairo Opera House will host a forum celebrating the anniversary of the 6th of October War, featuring a collection of photographs depicting the war and its victorious moments. Organised in collaboration with the Union of Arab Photographers, Egypt Branch, and the Fine Arts Sector of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture, the exhibition will spotlight the contributions of multiple photographers, including renowned late photojournalist Farouk Ibrahim.
Narration will be provided by Karim Farouk, Ibrahim's son and fellow photojournalist, alongside Dr. Ahmed Shash, son of Major General Staff Officer Mounir Shash. The event will take place at Al Hadara Cinema Hall, and attendance is free.
Farouk Ibrahim’s career spanned from 1952 until 2011, capturing pivotal moments in Egyptian history, with both his very first and very last photographs documenting two Egyptian revolutions. Ibrahim’s career began as a child, and he grew to become a masterful storyteller through photography, documenting iconic figures and historical events.
