China Introduces 10-Day Visa-Free Entry for UAE & Qatari Citizens
UAE and Qatar citizens can now enjoy 10-day visa-free travel in China, with expanded transit options across 24 provinces.
The State Administration of Immigration announced that UAE and Qatari citizens can now enter China visa-free for up to 10 days under the newly expanded visa-free transit programme.
The programme applies to travellers transiting to a third country. It has officially extended the visa-free stay to 240 hours (10 days) and increased the number of eligible provinces from 19 to 24. Travellers must transit through one of 60 designated ports and travel onward to a third country, with Hong Kong and Macao included as valid destinations.
This policy benefits citizens of 52 other countries, including the UK, USA, Canada, Russia and most Schengen nations, allowing short stays in tourism-friendly cities while excluding certain restricted areas.
China also allows visa-free entry for up to 30 days for passport holders from 38 countries, though this does not include the UAE or Qatar.
