Court Exempts International Students From Arabic & History Grades

The Administrative Judicial Court has issued a ruling to cancel the addition of Arabic and History grades to the total scores of students pursuing American Diploma and British Certificate programs in Egypt.

This decision comes in response to judicial appeals submitted by affected students, overturning a directive by the Minister of Education. The ministerial decision had sought to modify the evaluation system for schools offering international and foreign curricula by incorporating grades for Arabic and History into the overall score calculation.

The decision aligns with existing regulations for schools licensed to teach international curricula in Egypt. These institutions are required to provide Arabic language instruction for kindergarten students, while Arabic language and religious education remain compulsory for students in grades one through three. However, the court’s judgment ensures that students of international certificates are not subjected to changes in their evaluation standards beyond what is already mandated.
