Desert Blaze AlUla Will See Racers Surge Across the Sands This August
The race is one of the hottest events this summer. And we mean that literally.
The second edition of Desert Blaze AlUla, the first running challenge of its kind in the ancient oasis city, is set to return on August 23rd and the 24th.
The race consists of a 5km, 10km, half marathon and a full marathon race, all of which will take place in the scorching desert heat, making it a test of endurance like no other.
The minimum age requirement for the 5 km and 10 km races is 16, while participants will need to be a minimum of 19 years of age to run the half marathon and full marathon.
Winners of the 10 km, half marathon and full marathon races will be rewarded with a split cash prize amounting to SAR 111,000. The 5 km race, meanwhile, does not offer a cash prize.
Desert Blaze runners will also have access to comprehensive medical services and amenities to ensure their safety. This includes ambulances with roaming and stationed paramedics, nurses and physiotherapists, and aid stations every 5 km with water, ice buckets, hydration drinks, gels, fruit and snacks.
