Dubai Police to Fine Drivers Up to AED 2,000 for Noisy Vehicles
Penalties can also include 12 black points and vehicle impound-release fees of up to AED 10,000.
Drivers in Dubai can face fines of up to AED 2,000 if their vehicles exceed permitted noise levels, with violations detected by noise radars that monitor engine sound, unnecessary horn use, and in car audio volume. Penalties can also include 12 black points and vehicle impound-release fees of up to AED 10,000, with deployment of the radars expanding gradually across more neighbourhoods as the system scales up by Dubai Police. Dubai Police stated that enforcement will be supported by on-ground patrols and smart systems, alongside awareness campaigns aimed at educating drivers on respectful conduct on the roads. The focus is on encouraging compliance with noise limits rather than issuing fines, by clarifying behaviours that trigger violations such as unnecessary horn honking and excessively loud in car audio. The rollout of noise radars will continue to cover more areas as the system develops, with enforcement and education running in parallel.
