Dubai’s Salik Reduces Toll Fees During Ramadan Iftar Hours
Salik lowers toll fees during evening hours in Ramadan, with AED 4 charges from 5 PM to 2 AM.
Dubai’s toll road firm Salik, which operates the city’s electronic gate system that automatically deducts road tolls from registered vehicles, will lower charges during evening hours in Ramadan to reflect travel patterns around iftar. AED 4 from 5 PM to 2 AM from Monday to Saturday, covering the period when many residents travel to break their fast after maghrib prayers. Off-peak hours will remain free from 2 AM to 7 AM throughout the holy month. The revised pricing will apply across all Salik gates in the emirate.
Under the Ramadan schedule, peak charges of AED 6 will apply between 9 AM and 5 PM from Monday to Saturday. Low-peak fees of AED 4 will be charged from 7 AM to 9 AM and again from 5 PM to 2 AM. On Sundays, motorists will pay AED 4 during all paid hours, with a peak window from 9 AM to 5 PM and low-peak charges from 7 AM to 9 AM and 5 PM to 2 AM. Sundays will also remain free between 2 AM and 7 AM.
Salik introduced peak and off-peak pricing in January 2025, shifting from a flat AED 4 toll to AED 6 during designated peak hours. The company expanded its network to 10 gates in November 2024 with the activation of toll points at the Business Bay Crossing on Al Khail Road and Al Safa South on Sheikh Zayed Road. The Ramadan tariff adjustment builds on that framework by modifying time segments to align with seasonal traffic demand.
