ETA Launches Eighth Phase of Automated Salary Tax System Nationwide
The system is designed to simplify tax calculations and automatically generate quarterly declarations and annual settlements.
The Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) has launched the eighth phase of the automated tax system for salary tax calculations. The system, introduced under Ministerial Decision No. 386 of 2023, applies to all companies and individual establishments with salary obligations.
The process for registration requires entities to visit their local tax office and provide a recent commercial register extract and a copy of the national ID of the managing partner or owner. This will enable them to receive the necessary registration codes. During the announcement, Rasha Abdel Aal, Head of ETA, stressed the need for accurate monthly reports, which are mandatory for all companies and establishments. These reports should include employee data, such as full name, national ID, mobile number, social insurance details and salary information.
The new system is designed to simplify tax calculations and automatically generate quarterly declarations and annual settlements. It aims to improve transparency and compliance while streamlining the tax process for businesses. The ETA will monitor monthly submissions to ensure compliance with the new system, with companies encouraged to reach out to the ETA for any assistance during the transition.
