Egypt Takes Part in Global Disability Summit in Berlin
Founded in 2017, the summit aims to promote inclusive development and humanitarian action for people with disabilities.

In an effort to enhance the rights and integration of persons with disabilities, Egypt is participating in the Global Disability Summit, currently taking place in Germany. Led by Dr. Maya Morsi, the Minister of Social Solidarity, Egypt’s high-profile delegation is contributing to the global dialogue on disability inclusion.
The Global Disability Summit, established in 2017, serves as a key platform for fostering international collaboration to drive inclusive development and humanitarian action for persons with disabilities, particularly in developing nations. This year’s summit is co-hosted by the governments of Germany and Jordan, in partnership with the International Disability Alliance.
At the core of the summit’s discussions is bridging the gap between disability inclusion and global development cooperation. With a focus on the full implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the summit highlights that these rights are not optional, but rather a binding international obligation.
By participating, Egypt aims to strengthen its commitment to advancing disability inclusion, ensuring that people with special needs play a central role in policymaking and national development. The insights gained at the summit will shape future policies that empower persons with disabilities, both in Egypt and globally.
