Egypt’s First Waste-to-Energy Plant Will Be Constructed in Giza

The first waste-to-energy plant in Egypt will be built in the governorate of Giza. At a cost of EGP 105 million, the project will use German technology to produce renewable energy from waste materials, as part of a wide-reaching government initiative to promote sustainable practices across the country.
The waste-to-energy plant will be monitored by the Ministry of Environment’s Waste Management Regulatory Authority.
