Egypt’s House of Representatives Approves EUR 11 Million EU Grants

The House of Representatives has approved two EU-backed grants totaling EUR 11 million to support child protection systems, and local vaccine and medicine production. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation.

The first grant, valued at EUR 8 million, will be allocated to the EU Support for Future Generations programme, aimed at improving national child protection systems. According to Minister Rania Al-Mashat, the funding will help strengthen legal and institutional frameworks to combat child labour and ensure children have access to essential services such as education, healthcare, and nutrition.

The second grant, worth EUR 3 million, will go toward the Standards for Enhancing Vaccine and Medicine Production programme. This initiative focuses on supporting the local manufacturing of health products, contributing to Egypt’s national health strategies, and improving access to vaccines and medicines across Africa.
