Egyptian-Emirati Partnership Pioneers the World's Largest Wind Farm
As the world moves towards renewable energy, Egypt just unveiled a new project set to create jobs and save USD 5 billion yearly.
An Egyptian-Emirati consortium has finalized an agreement for the construction of a 10GW onshore wind farm in Upper Egypt, which may just become one of the largest in the world, boasting a project value exceeding USD 10 billion. Spearheaded by Infinity Power, Hassan Allam Utilities and Masdar, the project aims to produce 48,000 GWh of clean energy annually.
This landmark project aligns with Egypt's goal of sourcing 42% of its energy from renewable sources by 2030, a move that is expected to save the country an estimated USD 5 billion in natural gas costs annually. The project plans to create 23,000 direct and indirect job opportunities.
