Egyptian Hajj Mission Reports 142 Missing Pilgrims Have Been Found
The total number of Egyptian pilgrims reached 56,000 during the 2024 Hajj Season.
Egypt’s Tourism Hajj Mission announced that it successfully located 142 Egyptian pilgrims who had gone missing during their Hajj in Saudi Arabia, returning them safely to their residences. One Egyptian pilgrim out of those who had gone missing remains unaccounted for.
The total number of Egyptian pilgrims for the 2024 Hajj season reached 56,000. During the Hajj pilgrimage, eight Egyptian pilgrims passed away at Mina and Arafat, with 27 others transferred to hospitals in the holy sites on the first day of Eid Al Adha.
Hajj 2024 saw over 1.83 million Muslims participating, which is slightly lower than the previous year’s figure of 1.84 million, according to Saudi officials.
