Egyptian National Railways Launches Phone Service for Train Tickets

Railway passengers across Egypt can now reserve train tickets and check schedules through a new phone-based customer service. The service, launched by Egyptian National Railways, makes ticketing and inquiries available 24/7.

By dialing 1661 from a mobile phone or 09000661 from a landline, travellers can access the system for a fee of EGP 1.5 per minute. The service provides schedule details, ticket verification, and a streamlined booking process for luxury and air-conditioned trains. Payments are completed digitally through providers like Fawry, with tickets sent via SMS.

Egyptian National Railways has been modernising its rail network in recent years, introducing automated ticketing, station upgrades, and new rolling stock to improve reliability and efficiency. The latest phone service expands accessibility, particularly for those without internet access, while also integrating digital payment options.
