Egyptian Sprint Champion Bassant Hemida Wins Gold at FBK Games
In 2020, the athlete became the first Egyptian athlete to ever win gold in the 100m sprint during the Mediterranean Games.

Egyptian sprinter Bassant Hemida has earned a gold medal in the women’s 200m race at the Fanny Blankers-Koen (FBK) Games in the Netherlands, where she broke her own personal and national record of 22.41 seconds.
In 2022, Hemida became the first Egyptian athlete to ever win gold in the 100m sprint in the Mediterranean Games. The athlete also clinched the silver and bronze medals for the 200m and the 100m races respectively at the 2019 African Games in Rabat.
