Egyptian Wrestler Ashraf Mahrous Pulls 700 Tonne Ship With His Teeth

Egyptian wrestler Ashraf Mahrous pulled a 700-tonne ship across the water in Hurghada using a rope held only by his teeth. He then pulled two ships together weighing approximately 1,150 tonnes. The wrestler announced that he will submit video and photos of the feat to Guinness World Records; the current benchmark for a ship pull is 614 tonnes set in 2018. Mahrous, 44, is widely known by his nickname Kabonga and has staged similar strength challenges in recent years. In March, Guinness World Records formally recognised him for pulling a 279-ton train with a rope held by his teeth over nearly 10 metres, alongside certificates for the heaviest locomotive pull and the fastest 100-metre road vehicle pull. The wrestler was previously recognised in June 2021 for pulling a 15,730 kilograms truck with his teeth, and in February 2024 for cracking and eating 11 raw eggs in 30 seconds. He serves as president of the Egyptian Federation for Professional Wrestlers. Mahrous outlined a training routine built around a protein- and iron-rich diet and repeated daily sessions. He said he eats at least a dozen eggs, two whole chickens and 5 kilograms of fish per day, and trains for two hours, three times daily. He wears a mouthguard during pulling events and uses a miswak — a traditional teeth-cleaning twig — instead of going to a dentist. He said he plans to request permission to pull a 263,000-tonne submarine and also hopes to pull a plane using eyelid muscles.
