Electricity Load Reduction Schedule Shifted to Mornings

The Egyptian government has announced a revised electricity load reduction plan. Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, along with key officials from the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy and the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, convened to discuss the implementation of the revised plan.

Instead of cutting off electricity during the night, the plan will now focus on reducing loads during daylight hours only to accommodate students during their exam period. Effective from tomorrow, Wednesday, January 3rd, the load reduction period will be from 11 AM until 5 PM. The Ministry of Electricity has yet to announce specific load reduction schedules for each region.
