Emirates Road Fully Reopens Today August 25th
The 14 km stretch of Emirates Road linking Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi will fully reopen on August 25th. The upgrades focused on resurfacing worn sections to ease congestion ahead of the school year.

A 14 km section of Emirates Road is set to fully reopen on August 25th, following a two-month phased repair project aimed at improving traffic flow between Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. The reopening coincides with the start of the new school year, easing pressure on one of the UAE’s most heavily used corridors.
Inspections using laser-equipped and smoothness-scanning vehicles identified worn-out sections of the road, prompting resurfacing of both fast and slow lanes. Repairs were carried out in stages of 400 to 500 metres at a time to minimise disruption, with work scheduled during off-peak hours and weekends to keep traffic moving.
The upgrades were prompted by a dip in the Pavement Quality Index to 85%, with the restoration bringing standards back in line.
