Italy’s Eni plans to invest USD 2 billion in Egypt’s energy sector in 2026, following discussions held during the Egypt Energy Show 2026 in Cairo.
The announcement was made by Guido Brusco, Chief Operating Officer for Natural Resources at Eni, after a meeting with Mostafa Madbouly on March 30th, attended by Karim Badawi,
Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. The planned investment is expected to support ongoing exploration, appraisal activities and increased production from existing gas fields, as Egypt seeks to meet rising domestic energy demand.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister highlighted the strategic partnership between the government and Eni in oil and gas, and reiterated efforts to accelerate output from current projects while maintaining an investment-friendly environment for international companies.
Brusco confirmed Eni’s commitment to expanding its operations in Egypt, citing ongoing cooperation and improvements in the investment climate. In parallel with its energy investments,
Eni plans to sign agreements with the Ministry of Health to support the development of a medical facility with 400 beds, intended to serve around one million people.
The Egypt Energy Show serves as a platform for international partnerships in the energy sector, bringing together government officials and global companies to discuss investment and production strategies.
