Ericsson Signs Five Year Framework With stc Group in Saudi Arabia
The five year framework is intended to strengthen Saudi digital infrastructure in line with Vision 2030 and prepare networks for future 6G.
Ericsson, the Sweden-based telecommunications company and global supplier of mobile network infrastructure, has signed a five-year framework agreement with stc Group to support the expansion and modernisation of mobile networks across Saudi Arabia. The agreement establishes a long-term structure for collaboration on 4G and 5G network development as demand for high-capacity connectivity continues to grow in the Kingdom.
Under the framework, Ericsson will provide stc Group with network products and services covering deployment, optimisation, and lifecycle management. The agreement is intended to support stc’s efforts to enhance network performance, increase capacity, and prepare its infrastructure for advanced digital services.
stc Group is Saudi Arabia’s largest telecommunications operator and a key player in the region’s digital infrastructure landscape, with operations spanning mobile, fixed broadband, cloud, data centres, and digital services. The agreement aligns with stc’s ongoing investment in next-generation connectivity and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives, which prioritise digital transformation, smart infrastructure, and economic diversification.
Ericsson has operated in Saudi Arabia for decades, working with local operators on successive generations of mobile technology. The framework agreement formalises its continued role as a technology partner to stc Group, allowing projects to be commissioned through individual work orders over the five-year period.
