Flying Cars to Take Off in UAE by 2027 at USD 799,000
After 12 years of development, the PAL-V Liberty will bring road-to-air travel to the UAE with pilot training.

The UAE is set to welcome its first flying cars by early 2027, as Dutch company PAL-V prepares to roll out the PAL-V Liberty, a road-air hybrid vehicle priced at USD 799,000. The two-seat gyroplane, which also functions as a compact car, has completed its regulatory certification after more than a decade of testing, approvals, and international collaboration.
Production of the Liberty will begin in the Netherlands in 2026, with European deliveries expected by the end of that year. In the UAE, PAL-V has partnered with Dubai-based aviation services firm Jetex to facilitate its regional entry, which includes plans for local testing and pilot training programmes.
Designed for both road and air use, the PAL-V Liberty is equipped to handle desert conditions and requires only a short stretch of land for takeoff and landing. To operate the vehicle, users will need both a standard driving licence and a private pilot licence, with PAL-V planning to launch dedicated flight training schools as part of the rollout.
The Liberty has undergone a rigorous 12-year approval process with regulatory oversight from both the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). PAL-V claims that over 90% of its early adopters had no previous flight experience but remain committed to completing the necessary training.
