Grand Egyptian Museum to House Its Own Solar Power Plant
In line with its designation as Egypt’s first green museum, the Grand Egyptian Museum will soon house its own solar power plant.
The highly anticipated Grand Egyptian Museum - set to be the largest museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization - will house its very own solar power plant, fully embracing Egypt’s ongoing dedication to clean energy sources.
The new solar power plant will be developed by Egypt’s Industrial Modernisation Centre and the United Nations Development Program, in collaboration with Egypt’s Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy.
From its inception, the museum has embodied sustainable practices. It includes a number of sustainable features, and was named the first eco-friendly museum in Egypt after earning the Green Building Award from the Environment and Development Forum.
