Greenish Launches Green Clubs in Egypt’s Technical Schools
The initiative extends across 54 technical schools in 27 governorates, with the aim of equipping students with the tools to engage in environmental problem-solving within their communities.

Greenish, an Egyptian environmental foundation founded in 2017, has announced the launch of the Green Clubs project in technical education schools, in collaboration with GIZ, a German federal enterprise for international cooperation in sustainable development, and the Ministry of Education and Technical Education. The initiative extends across 54 technical schools in 27 governorates, with the aim of equipping students with the tools to engage in environmental problem-solving within their communities. The project is structured to encourage participation under the guidance of representative teachers, while also leaving space for students to contribute their own ideas. This balance is intended to create an environment where young people are recognised as active change-makers in the present, rather than being viewed solely as future leaders. Through the Green Clubs, students will gain practical experience in addressing local environmental challenges, strengthening both their technical skills and their role in shaping more sustainable practices in their surroundings.
