Hail Sees Over 3 Million Visitors in First Half of 2025

Hail region reported more than 3 million visitors in the first half of 2025, reflecting a surge in heritage, rural and outdoor tourism.

Hail’s mountainous terrain and temperate climate have made it an increasingly popular destination for heritage tours, hiking and rural experiences. Officials attributed the rise in visitor numbers to a combination of major events, festivals and ongoing development at key UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Jabal Umm Sinman in Jubbah and the Shuwaymis rock carvings.

To build on this momentum, local authorities have signed investment agreements worth SAR 179 million for new tourism projects. These include rural lodges and the Aja Hill development, which is planned to feature a hotel and resort, alongside deals to operate designated tourist routes and promote the region internationally.

Beyond tourism, Hail remains an important agricultural hub, with around 15,000 farms across 240,000 hectares of productive land. The region also has a strategic logistical role, supported by an extensive road network of more than 5,900 kilometres and recent infrastructure upgrades, including 13 road projects covering 358 kilometres valued at SAR 47 million.
