Health-Conscious Iftar Meals Introduced at Grand Mosque for Ramadan
The initiative aims to accommodate worshippers with chronic illnesses, fostering a healthier fasting experience.
In preparation for Ramadan 2025, new guidelines have been introduced to ensure low-calorie Iftar meals are available at the Grand Mosque in Makkah. The initiative aims to accommodate worshippers with chronic illnesses, fostering a healthier fasting experience during the holy month.
The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques has stipulated that 20% of meals from individual sponsors and 30% from charitable organisations must cater to people with dietary restrictions, including diabetics. To manage this process, an online portal has been launched where individuals can apply to sponsor one meal site, while charities can request up to ten. All distributed meals must meet strict hygiene and packaging standards to ensure quality.
