Jeddah's First Public Sandy Beach Opens in North Obhur
The development process included installing marine surveillance towers to enhance safety and emergency response efforts.
The Jeddah Mayoralty has inaugurated its first public sandy beach in North Obhur in an effort to revitalise waterfronts and create accessible recreational spaces.
Spanning 17,640 square metres, the beach area includes lifeguards certified by the Saudi Life Saving Federation, eco-friendly solar powered lighting as well as marine surveillance towers for enhanced safety. Signs have also been placed to inform visitors about rules and swimming hours.
Additionally, two more beaches are currently being developed in North Obhur, with one covering 10,320 square metres and the other being close to 75,000 square metres.
