IOM Launches Islamic Fund to Support 75 Million People Worldwide
The total number of displaced people has doubled in just five years

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has announced the launch of the Islamic Philanthropy Fund at the UN office in Riyadh. This initiative aims to support the most vulnerable communities worldwide by providing life-saving aid to over 75 million people affected by natural disasters, wars, and insecurity.
Furthermore, to enhance the fund’s reach and effectiveness, the IOM has signed memorandums of understanding with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the International Islamic Fiqh Academy.
According to the IOM, the number of internally displaced people worldwide has doubled in the past five years, now reaching approximately 79 million. In response, the fund will focus on the Sudanese crisis during its inaugural year, providing cash assistance to displaced families and those stranded at the borders.
