Islamic Pottery Museum to Re-Open on October 15th

After being closed for 14 years for restoration, Minister of Culture Ahmed Hanno has announced the reopening of the Islamic Pottery Museum to the public starting October 15th.

The Minister made the announcement during an inspection tour of the museum on September 16th to learn about the latest developments in its reopening, instructing the team to swiftly complete the remaining work to ensure its readiness for the public.

The museum houses one of the world’s most significant collections of Islamic ceramics, representing the rich heritage of the Islamic world and spanning almost a millennium of history from the Fatimids to the Ottomans. The collection is displayed across two floors of the Prince Amr Ibrahim Palace, an architecturally distinctive building that blends Moroccan, Turkish, and Andalusian styles with European classical architecture, all set within a spacious garden.
