Madinah Buses Ready for Ramadan: Dedicated Routes, Extended Hours
This initiative prioritizes a smooth pilgrimage experience by establishing seven dedicated routes for the shuttle buses.
The Madinah Region Development Authority has announced the deployment of around 200 buses specifically designed to ease movement within the city during Ramadan.
This initiative prioritizes a smooth pilgrimage experience by establishing seven dedicated routes for the shuttle buses. These routes connect passengers to the Prophet's Mosque through designated stations located at strategic points, including the Sports Stadium, Durrat Al-Madinah, Sayed Alshuhda', the Islamic University, AlKhaldiha Neighbourhood, and Bani Harithah.
The primary objective behind this project is twofold: reducing traffic congestion and fostering pedestrian-friendly zones surrounding the Prophet's Mosque.
The service hours for the Quba Mosque route cater specifically to Ramadan prayer times. Buses will operate from 3 PM until one hour after the Tarawih prayers, which are unique night prayers observed throughout Ramadan.
Notably, during the last 10 days of Ramadan, when religious practices intensify, service hours will extend until half an hour after the Qiyam prayer, another special Ramadan prayer.
